Summary of Position: The CPC Brooklyn Branch is located in the diverse Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, a community with a growing presence of Chinese-speaking and Spanish- speaking immigrants. The Branch houses a diversity of programs that addresses the needs of immigrant senior citizens; school-age and teenage youth and assistance to parents of the developmentally disabled; and it provides walk-in entitlement, health insurance enrollment and housing support services. Core to much of its in-house activities revolve around congregate, and preventive mental health, senior services, including a meals-on-wheels program, which are built from multiple funding sources. The Branch Director plays a vital and strategic role in developing and expanding this critical senior service programming in the Sunset Park community of Brooklyn. The Branch Director oversees and manages program overall Branch program operations under the direction of the Executive Director. S/he is the representative of the Chinese-American Planning Council in Brooklyn and is a member of the CPC middle management team. Responsibilities and Duties Provide strategic guidance, direction and implementation oversight as CPC Brooklyn Branch continues to grow and strengthen as a major provider of social services in the Sunset Park area of Brooklyn. Manage program planning, implementation and evaluation of all Brooklyn based programs in collaboration with other CPC middle managers from the Youth Services, Community Services and the Workforce Development Divisions. Recruit, hire and supervise Brooklyn Branch staff members, including the Assistant Branch Director, Beacon Director, PS 153 After School Program Director, Entitlements Worker and Meals on Wheels Coordinator. Prepare and manage Brooklyn Branch consolidated budget consisting of private and government funding. Maintain program statistics and service delivery systems according to standards set forth by funding agencies. Manage contract renewals and grant-writing for Brooklyn Branch programs in coordination with the Development Office. Coordinate annual Brooklyn Branch events including Beacon Family Service Day, senior citizen holiday luncheons and fundraising dinners. Network with community based organizations, elected officials and community leaders on behalf of CPC. Under the direction of the Executive Director, develop and collaborate with Brooklyn Branch advisory board. Occasional evening and weekend hours to be expected.
